🌍 International seminar discusses rights and comprehensive care for homeless people

On 22 and 23 October, Fiocruz Brasília will host the International Seminar “People living on the streets: comprehensive care and rights now”, a meeting that brings together researchers, public managers, social movements and civil society organisations to rethink care and public policies for people living on the streets - one of the most vulnerable and invisible groups in the country.

Father Julio Lancellotti receives a message about the initiative from our partner in the Solidaritas Project, Joyce Braga.

With the presence of authorities such as Alexandre Padilha (Ministry of Health), Macaé Evaristo (Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship) and André Quintão (Ministry of Social Development), the event will also include representatives from Fiocruz, IPEA, Abrasco and international organisations from Latin America.

The programme includes round tables, thematic panels and reports on experiences that address issues such as social protection, comprehensive health care, gender-based violence on the streets, racial equity, assisted housing, social entrepreneurship and the role of justice in guaranteeing rights. Also noteworthy is the participation of Father Julio Lancellotti, a national symbol of the struggle for the dignity of PopRua.

Because nobody is invisible - and the street is also a place of rights.
