Today we celebrate a very special milestone in our journey. 🚀✨
We signed Solidaritas' first international partnership with Street Sense Media, an organisation based in Washington, D.C., whose mission is clear and inspiring: to end homelessness by empowering vulnerable people with the tools, skills and confidence to rebuild their lives. 🏠💪
With this partnership, we now have the right to publish in Portuguese some of the stories produced by this institution that combines journalism, cinema, theatre, photography, audio, illustration and much more to give a voice to people with lived street experience. 📰🎬🎭📸🎧
Street Sense Media shows the world that talent and creativity are distributed equally, regardless of income or housing situation. Since 2003, its reports have impacted public policies and transformed society's perception of homeless people. 🌎✊
For us at Solidaritas, this alliance is a recognition of the value of what we are building in Brazil: a network that unites evidence-based public journalism, university extension and social mobilisation to defend the dignity of the homeless population. 🤝📚
We're convinced that this is just the first of many bridges we're going to build across borders. 🌍 Other international partnerships are already underway, and we'll soon have news that will further strengthen this global solidarity network.
We would like to sincerely thank Street Sense Media for trusting in our project and for allowing us to share, in Portuguese, stories that deserve to be read. 🙏❤️
The future is collaborative. The future is solidarity. 🌟
